Bugs - Game doesn't load? Found a glitch?

Hey guys,


I encountered a couple of bugs/glitches.


First:

I had alot of screen tearing. i guess this is because of early stage optimization. so its stating the obvious i guess. 


Second:

When you try and use a skill while operating another gun. It does not use the skill all the time.

On top of that, it sometimes even glitches your gun completely rendering it unable to fire untill you die. or a random moment. (i have it recorded if you want to see it) 


Triggered by: Pressing thumbpad down and trigger at the same time.


Third:

When i swapped my weapon one time in the menu, i got  the same weapon in both my hotbar slots.  so left AND right were both taken up by the same weapon. While in the menu it said differently. 


Triggered by:  Switching guns mid game. 


Fourth:


And now one that im not sure has to do with the game.

I recorded footage, but somehow the game distorted my voice comm. so all you could hear was some beeps and bops on the recordings. i tested my voice on other games, programs and recordings after i heard the footage. but none of them had the same sort of distortion.  so it is somehow linked to the game, no idea how though.


Really enjoyed playing, ill get on this evening again for some more! :)

Yep, we're aware of screen tearing issues and are working on remedies. As a quick solution, try lowering graphics settings in the Options menu, that should help a bit.


We're also aware of the gun freeze glitch and a fix is in the works. Skill activation could be clearer and should have immediate feedback, it's a bit slow at the moment.


Gun selection - was not aware of that particular bug, will look into that.


Sound rec - something new as well, what software did you use for recording?

Im using Nvidea shadowplay. just now recorded something again. worked fine.  ill try on skyfront again tonight. so i can be sure. 


im using a digital cable in between the mic and output. so maybe thats interfering with the game or something.

OK, cool. FYI, our team will be on at 7pm-10pm CEST tonight.

not sure if you guys are seeing this too.

If someone grapples to a wall, (i think because of lag) he dissapears for about 1 second before he appears.


Also the reload animations often dont play, maybe because of my excessive weapon swapping :p

Yes! We are patching the game as we go, you can check this thread with the latest info.

Found that in some spaces close to walls, if i shoot below me, it shoots me.. I'll snip the video for reference. rocket shoots through this spot, but bullet hits me. Is it ok to upload the clips to youtube and share here, or is there a better way to get clips to you?


Also found minor tearing of the map in one spot. will upload picture after i finish watching my gameplay from last night.


with the hurricane coming through, looks like i will not be able to do any further testing since it closes this weekend. =( was looking forward to doing some PVP with you guys. good luck!

We are aware of the issue & the dev's will definitely tackle it.

The grapple issues I was having. When I am moving fast, it shoots in weird directions

I believe this could be due to the controller positioning & visuals not keeping up. We'll work to optimize the visuals for the grappling hook, so as to it doesn't look as if it's shooting randomly.

When I shoot at the ground in a few areas, i end up shooting myself with the rifle, but with the rocket launcher, it shoots through the same spots.

We found that we couldn't see each other at times. I was (with his permission to test) standing in front of him and shooting him, but he couldn't detect me at all.

That's something new. Can you give some specifics - you were in the same match and could see each other at times, but when you were right in front of him, he couldn't see you? How close were you? Did your bullets do any damage? Did this change after respawn or after you changed position. Were there other times where one player became invisible? 


Sorry for the third degree, but would be really interesting to get to the bottom of this.

I was in the same match. We saw each other at times including a time when we were right in front of each other. We were talking and not shooting at each other. 

After that there was a time when he could not see me. I was very close to him, perhaps a meter directly in front in real world terms. I shot him and the bullets did damage. 

At a time after that, I couldn't see him either but he could see me. He was shooting at me slowly, trying to point out his position and damaged me until I died. We both moved about the map quite a bit and there was at least one respawn for both of us I believe.

I don't believe that I actually saw him after that in the match.

Unfortunately I didn't record my gameplay as I usually do because of the NDA.

I played again last night and i encountered some gameplay glitches.

One is with the grappling hook. When opponents use them it gets really glitchy. They apear to go through walls then apear where they were supposed to. Im not sure if the player is experiencing the same or if its just the way opponents visualizes it.

Also, the positional audio is terrible. Its impossible to track enemies because the audio is all over the place. When you get a kill the opponent's death cry always just sounds in one ear and usually loud no matter where he is on the map.


Hey! Thanks for taking the time to test the game out extensively! We are aware of the glitchy Grappling Hook issue & will smooth things out as we go along. Audio is also a must on a FPS, so optimizing & balancing it will be one of the priorities for us too. 

I think I encountered a hacker, he was always killing me one shot. The first two times I thought "Damn he's good!", but after that it just felt weird and when more player came I understood that it was only him. I don't remember his gamertag, it was something really long that didn't fit in the headset with "vigilant" in it.

Hey Tommy! We'll have a look through the logs & see if we find anything suspicious. Would you also mind confirming your gamertag?

In the meantime, there are few ways you can get instant kills - 1. Try sending multiple missiles simultaneously with the Rocket Launcher by pressing & holding the trigger only half-way 2. The Revolver is actually extremely powerful, so if you get a hang of it & your aim increases to hunt those headshots, it's a very lethal weapon.

My gamertag is tommypepsi. I know he wasn't using the rocket launcher since the explosions makes my game lag. If it was the revolver, maybe it would be a good thing to have something to show where you were hit when you die like in pavlov.

I was trying to play with someone earlier and we couldn't get in the same match. We just kept going into our own empty matches.


Only potential cause I can think of is that he's half way around the world from my location. Usually we don't have issues playing together though.

I actually thought it was weird that when I managed to find a game with someone else, he was almost always gone the next game. Maybe it's the same problem and we are sent in different room for some reason.

Sorry to hear that Tommy! As I've noted above, matchmaking is something we will work on as a priority.

The reason why you weren't able to play with your friend, has already been outlined by yourself. Namely, we currently have 3 different regions: US, Euro, Asia. The reason we didn't allow players from different regions to connect is due to lag they may experience & general connectivity issues. We will definitely learn from this & try to implement a solutions (asap!) by possibly allowing players to manually change regions to connect to.


So I found a few things. (Sorry for the annoying cursor in my clips)

1.) This bug in the sky. Whenever I would look a little too high up, the sky would go to this negative color, but only in certain areas. The second part of my clip is showing that it only would do it in specific places. 

2.) The second bug I found was with the grappling guns, when using both at once at at walls across from each other I'd get stuck in the middle, and bounce around. Not sure if you'd consider it a bug or not. But I wasn't sure if it was something that'd be wanted in the game or not.

Sorry the videos were set to "private" their now set to unlisted. They should be able to be viewed now.

New problem with the new beta! The first time I started the game, the UI was smooth like last week, but I had low FPS in game(the type of low fps where there's a black circle around what you see because it's not rendering fast enough) and when I pressed the steamVR menu it made all the steamVR environment crash. At first I thought my computer wasn't good enough anymore because of the new background and little map upgrade, but then I restarted the game and everything was smooth. I moved around for like 15 minutes like that and I started to get low fps again after opening the steamVR menu. Opening the steamVR menu during the low fps made everything crash again.


processor - amd 8350-fx

graphic card - gtx 960 (might be the cause, I need to upgrade soon)

Thanks for the information Tommy! We've been having some issues with the latest builds in terms of FPS with some specs. We'll definitely look into this!
We do have a "low" spec system with a 970 GPU, which we test on. We'd suggest turning the graphics settings to "Low" in the meantime to try and see if it fixes the issue for now.
